    • The FHF 90-4 is a watch movement produced by Fabrique d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF), a historic Swiss movement manufacturer. While detailed specifications for this particular caliber are not widely available, it is part of the FHF family known for producing reliable and precise movements. Research suggests it likely features 17 jewels and is designed for durability and accuracy, possibly including a pallet lever escapement and balance wheel with shock protection. Its use in the Omikron watch highlights the brand's commitment to quality Swiss engineering, though its exact characteristics remain less documented compared to similar calibers like FHF 96-4.

    • Omikron's journey began in 1888 with Gustave Homberger, who started manufacturing key-wound pocket watches. In 1898, Homberger developed the Omikron caliber, a 19-line pocket watch movement utilizing interchangeable standardized parts, named after the Greek letter "Omikron" for achievement, excellence, and perfection. It became the official supplier for the Ottoman Empire and Eastern European railway systems, including the Orient Express. After Gustave's death in 1929, his sons Stephane and Georges adapted the technology for military applications, producing pilot and diver's watches. Post-World War II, Omikron continued innovating, focusing on mechanical watches, and remains cherished by collectors for its historical significance.
